Yes this is made of paper. To be more specific it is made of 2 mm paper strips hand rolled and glued together. Nope this is not a beehive technique. This one is more time consuming, ‘cos you have to cut paper strips first. It took me72 h to finish this dog portrait, but it was worth it!spaniel portrait

The dog was fixed on A5 size card stock. ( it was huge!! Even massive for me 😉 ) As always at the beginning I wasn’t pleased with my work but… be patience, you have to wait to the end.

Hope it will be a great gift for 90th Birthday!

Have a good day!!

  1. Oh, Iza, how I love this little guy! I imagined this technique is more time consuming than beehiving, but the end result is totally worth it! The design is more refined and the small details look better. I admire your patience!

  2. Manu it is, but I’m crazy enough to cut and roll the teeny tiny pieces of paper strips 🙂 to be honest I was surprised how it came out. The dog looks like painting!!
